5 Takeaways From The Book "Can't Hurt Me" by David Goggins

Navy seal, ultra athlete and a little nuts. David Goggings' book will make you want to run a marathon.

Reading Time: 2 minutes

David's cards at the beginning of his life were not the best hand: physical abuse, poverty and continuous traumas are the elements defining his childhood years until he decided to sign up for the military and revolutionize his life and become part of the 0,01% that makes the rest of us believe that anything is possible.

Here are my 5 takeaways after finishing his book:

  1. No matter how hard your life is or has been, you can always use your story and your excuses to fuel yourself on your way to success. Transform the anger and the pain into the key for your progress.

  2. Refuse to live in mediocrity. In our society mediocrity is too often the standard and belongs to our worlds deeply. Run the opposite way: look for an exceptional life in unconventional ways that "transcend human capabilities".

  3. The one and only ticket to victory is giving our best when we are at our worst. That is where you show if you are part of the uncommon ones or if you will be just one of the many. It is all about your mind game.

  4. Failure is just part of your success. Get used to it and surround yourself with people that think you can do anything and will not feed you with doubts and cap your potential

  5. Be "peaceful but never satisfied". In life if you are not progressing, most likely you are regressing. Ask yourself constantly the question "What if?" to shy away your doubts.
